SUMMARY:An Evening with Poet Katherine Gaffney
DESCRIPTION:The Department of English and Philosophy and the AUM Lectures Committee invite you to an evening with award winning poet Katherine Gaffney.\nKatherine Gaffney completed her MFA in poetry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and her PhD at the University of Southern Mississippi Center for Writers. Her first chapbook, Once Read as Ruin, was released in 2021, and her first full-length collection, Fool in a Blue House, won the 2023 Tampa Review Prize for Poetry. Her poems have also appeared in jubilat, Harpur Palate, Mississippi Review, Meridian, and many other journals. She is currently on faculty at the University of Illinois.\nJoin us on Thursday, November 16 at 6:30 pm in Theatre AUM to hear Katherine read her work, discuss the craft of poetry, and answer questions from the audience on the creative process.\n
