Mr. Harmon is entering his twenty-eighth year in education and his first year as Executive Director of the AHSAA. He is married to Holley Harmon who serves in the role of Educational Specialist with the ALSDE. They have two children. Their daughter, Halaya, is a recent graduate of Auburn University and is a nurse. Their son, Hudson, is a sophomore at Jax State.
Mr. Harmon earned a BS degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English and history from Jacksonville State University in 1997 and was a member of the 1992 Division II National Championship football team. He earned a Masters degree in English education in 2000, a Masters degree in Education Leadership in 2007, and an EdS degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama in 2022. He has recently completed all coursework for his doctorate degree and is currently working on his dissertation.
Mr. Harmon hopes to continue to develop his skills in leadership and make a positive impact in education-based athletics in our state and nation.
