Welcome AUM CRCV Speaker Kyes Stevens, Director of the Alabama Prison Arts & Education Program

Expanding educational access across corrections institutions in the state of Alabama

The AUM Civil Rights & Civic Virtue Society is hosting Kyes Stevens for its first speaker series breakfast in 2024. Stevens is founder and director of the Alabama Prison Arts & Education Program an outreach program that works with the underserved adult prison population in Alabama. Stevens has been recognized with the Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach at the 2018 Auburn University Faculty Awards and the 2019 Alabama State Council on the Arts’ Governor’s Arts Award for her efforts. She will discuss her work with this initiative and its impact on expanding educational access across corrections institutions in the state of Alabama.
