This event will be on the culminating day of our inaugural summer seminar (July 31st – August 4th) for the AUM Civil Rights & Civic Virtue Society and is co-sponsored by the Experiential Education and Engagement Center. The aims of this seminar are to increase civil rights literacy through a study of heroic individuals and historic sites central to the Civil Rights Movement in the Montgomery region; to increase civic virtue literacy through a study of the focal civic virtues of justice, courage, hope, perseverance, and solidarity; and to create civic engagement communities that cultivate community and character through shared engagement in service and reflection. It is this final goal where we would love to engage with your organization.
Our goal is to create spaces and opportunities for faculty and students to serve within the local community during the 2023-2024 academic year.
