Southern Studies Conference 2026

Auburn University at Montgomery will host its 2026 Southern Studies Conference on the Auburn-Montgomery campus on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The Southern Studies Conference is an interdisciplinary gathering focused on the politics, history, literature, culture, and arts of the American South. It consists of research panels, artistic and poster exhibits, and keynote lectures.
The Southern Studies Conference welcomes submissions from those studying the South, including students, faculty, other full-time professionals (such as artists, public opinion researchers, or archivists), and those who are retired. The Conference welcomes individual paper submissions, complete panels/roundtables, poster submissions, or other exhibits such as artistic displays. Additionally, the Conference awards prizes for best undergraduate and graduate student presentations. Please submit proposals by November 15.
