AUM named top university in River Region for eighth consecutive year

For the eighth consecutive year, Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) has been recognized by readers of the Montgomery Advertiser as the best university in the River Region. AUM earned accolades in two categories of the Montgomery Advertiser’s 2025 “Best of the River Region” Community’s Choice Awards:

  • Best College/University
  • Best Hearing Aid/Hearing Specialist Center – AUM Speech & Hearing Clinic

In addition to these wins, AUM was also named one of the two finalists in the “Top Employers” category, though the university did not claim the top spot this year.

The “Best of the River Region” awards celebrate the area’s most outstanding non-profits, businesses, and institutions, with winners chosen by the local community. The awards honor those who contribute to the vibrancy and growth of Montgomery.

AUM was among 132 winners recognized at the Best of the River Region Awards Gala held Wednesday, July 9. The event not only highlighted the achievements of the winners but also provided a platform for networking and celebration.
