Serve with AUM Staff Council and River Region Connects
River Region Connects is a homeless resource fair that serves as a one-day, one-stop shop of services for people experiencing homelessness. Representatives from government and community agencies bring their services under one roof to assist individuals and families with finding shelter, employment, education, health care, legal assistance and other services. This is a day when people in need have immediate access to essential services.
Wednesday, 8/6, 11am – 1pm (pre-event set-up)
Thursday, 8/7, 11am – 2pm (day of event)
Multiplex at Cramton Bowl (220 Hall Street)
Bus will leave from Taylor Center at 10:30 and return approximately 30 minutes after the end of the event.
Event details
- AUM has room for 40 volunteers on the bus each day. First-come, first-able-to-ride.
- Volunteers must be at least 19 years old.
- Wear an AUM shirt and comfortable shorts, pants or jeans.
- Wear comfortable shoes. You will be standing and walking during your shift.
- Avoid wearing jewelry and do not bring purses or other valuables.
- Light snacks and lunch will be available for volunteers.
*All volunteers are asked to watch a short training video as well as sign a volunteer liability waiver and confidentiality agreement. You’ll receive an email with the information.
- Obtain permission from your supervisor (AUM provides up to 8 hours per year of paid leave to participate in community service).
