Zoom Phone Service FAQs
Zoom Phone operates on the same application used for Zoom meetings. Users can operate Zoom Phone on their existing devices (computer, tablet, or mobile devices) as a softphone. Zoom Phone is flexible, versatile, can seamlessly transfer calls across devices and to different mediums, easily switching from voice to video and back again.
Yes, you will be able to keep your current AUM phone number once you are switched over to Zoom Phone.
Yes. You will be able to access Zoom Phone through the mobile application and make calls appearing as they would come from your desk phone.
Yes! You do not need special equipment to make and receive calls with Zoom Phone and can even call through your computer using a webcam.
Features include the Zoom mobile and desktop app, desk phone support, call transfer, call forwarding, voicemail, call recording, call blocking, call delegation, call hold, elevate to meeting, listen (monitor), presence, shared lines, and more! Yes, both the Zoom desktop app and mobile app provide an option to enable temporary call forwarding to another number or direct to voicemail. The capability to do this with a physical handset will vary by device. More information is available in Zoom’s tutorial video on call handling.
Yes, Zoom Phone can accommodate shared lines. With Zoom Phone, users have the ability to answer a department line, answer a call from a call queue, and transfer a call to another phone number.
Zoom Phone is built into the existing Zoom app that AUM uses for video conferencing. Once your number is migrated, no separate installation is needed to access Zoom Phone if you already have the app downloaded and you are logged in to your Zoom account.
As part of the Zoom Phone Migration project, desk phones are not being replaced as needed. Most users will receive an updated desk phone that is optimized for Zoom Phone. Any headset or headphones currently being used for Zoom video conferencing will work for Zoom Phone. No changes are necessary.

How can I prepare to switch to Zoom Phone?
