Master the future with an AUM graduate degree

Current AUM students and employees, as well as community members, will have the opportunity to learn how the university’s master’s degree and doctoral programs can position them for professional advancement or career reinvention Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Graduate Studies Preview Night will be held from 5-7 p.m. in Taylor Center 221-223. Application fees will be waived for attendees, and dinner will be provided. Members of the AUM Admissions team will be on hand to answer questions about the application process, programs, scholarship opportunities and more.
Theatre AUM rolls out ‘Red’ this week
Theatre AUM’s 2024-2025 season begins this week with performances of “Red” by John Logan, a searing portrait of abstract expressionist artist Mark Rothko as he creates a definitive work in an extraordinary setting.
Directed by Michael Krek, “Red” will take the stage October 3-5 and 10-12, with shows beginning at 7:30 p.m., and October 13 at 2 p.m. Doors open in the Taylor Center Theatre 30 minutes before curtain.
Admission is free to all AUM students, employees, alumni and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for military and senior citizens.
Applications open for Miss AUM pageant
Female students who have an interest in serving the community and representing the university are encouraged to apply for the Miss AUM pageant.
Applications will be accepted until noon on Friday, Oct. 4. Candidates must be full-time students with a 2.75 GPA or higher who are in good sanding with the university and who have completed at least 24 credit hours. Candidates must be sponsored by a student organization, department or college.
The Miss AUM Pageant will be Saturday, Oct. 19.

Help beautify AUM’s Trailhead
Enjoy a day outdoors while helping your campus community at the same time. Join AUM’s Rural History & Ecology Institute for Forest Restoration Day on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the AUM Trailhead.

Volleyball team hosting Valdosta State
AUM’s volleyball team will host Valdosta State tonight at 6 p.m. at the AUM Athletics Complex in a Gulf South Conference matchup.
The Warhawks (4-7) enter with a 1-1 mark in conference play. Here’s a look at what’s happening in other AUM sports:
- Men’s soccer: No. 11-ranked AUM (4-0-3) will host Alabama-Huntsville Friday at 7:30 p.m. before visiting West Alabama on Sunday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. AUM shares the lead in NCAA Division II with a 0.29 goals against average.
- Women’s soccer: The Warhawks (2-4-1) visit West Alabama on Friday for a 5 p.m. match before returning home to face Alabama-Huntsville on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Protect your nest during flu season
Warhawk Health Services recently began offering flu vaccinations for students, employees and dependents 6 months and older.
There is no charge for individuals with Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. The cost for other insurance plans or uninsured individuals is $25.
No appointment is necessary. Visit Warhawk Health Services in Moore Hall during clinic hours – 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
