Warhawk Weekly 10-8: Emerging local artists; Explore graduate options

AUM offers ideal canvas for emerging local artists
AUM’s Cason McDermott Art Gallery will showcase the creativity of local artists ages 13 to 62 in the first “Imagination Station” exhibit.
The juried exhibition opens today and will be on display through Thursday, Oct. 31. Conceptualized by local high school student Harmony Koda and brought to life with the help of AUM Department of Fine Arts Chair Will Fenn, the Imagination Station invited unestablished artists from Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties to submit original work for consideration.
Located in Goodwyn Hall, the McDermott Gallery is open Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A reception in celebration of the artists will be held at the gallery on Friday, Oct. 18, from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Explore AUM’s graduate degree options tonight

Current AUM students and employees, as well as community members, will have the opportunity to learn how the university’s master’s degree and doctoral programs can position them for professional advancement or career reinvention tonight, from 5-7 p.m., in Taylor Center 221-223.
Application fees will be waived for Graduate Studies Preview Night attendees, and dinner will be provided. Members of the AUM Admissions team will be on hand to answer questions about the application process, programs, scholarship opportunities and more.
