AUM earns ‘Best of the River Region’ awards
For the eighth consecutive year, AUM has been recognized by readers of the Montgomery Advertiser as the best university in the River Region.
AUM earned accolades in two categories of the Montgomery Advertiser’s 2025 “Best of the River Region” Community’s Choice Awards:
- Best College/University
- Best Hearing Aid/Hearing Specialist Center – AUM Speech & Hearing Clinic
Each year, the awards recognize the most outstanding nonprofits, businesses, and institutions that contribute to Montgomery’s vibrancy and growth. AUM was honored as one of 132 winners at the Best of the River Region Awards Gala, held Wednesday, July 9.
Thanks to all of our students, faculty, staff, and supporters who nominated AUM as the region’s top university!
AUM Aspire initiative empowers new campus leaders
Auburn University at Montgomery’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive campus community extends beyond the classroom, thanks to the dedication of our staff and initiatives like AUM Aspire.
Offered through the Office of Continuing Education and Community Engagement, AUM Aspire is a supervisor development program designed to empower new and mid-level supervisors with essential leadership skills. Participants gain tools to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and lead with confidence.
Members of the 2025 Aspire class recently took part in team-building activities that focused on transformational leadership, emotional intelligence, and conflict management, as well as other leadership areas.

- Facilities Management: Dontavis Benson, Marcus Leonard, Jerome Perryman, LaShonda Wilson
