Alabama Society of Certified Public Managers
The Alabama Society of Certified Public Managers(R) (ASCPM) exists to promote ongoing education, partnership, and cooperation in public service. CPM participants and graduates may become a member of ASCPM which has many direct benefits including attending monthly meetings where guest speakers provide updates on issues relevant to public leadership and governance. Several seminars are offered throughout he year, and each of them have been approved to meet elective requirements of the CPM Program.

John Buono is a graduate of Capella University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Leadership and Management.
John served 6 years of active duty in the United States Air Force. He has worked for the State of Alabama Department of Insurance for two years in the Rates and Forms division as a rate analyst. In 2025, John completed the Certified Public Manager program. Additionally, he completed his designation as an Associate Professional in Insurance Regulation in 2025.
John is a native of Schenectady, NY, but has called Alabama home for over 25 years.
